Into My World

“I raise up my voice—not so that I can shout, but so that those without a voice can be heard. … We cannot all succeed when half of us are held back.” ―Malala Yousafzai

Hello and a heartfelt welcome. You’ve found your way to a corner of the internet I call my own—a digital sanctuary known as Into My World. I’m so glad you’re here. This is more than a blog; it is my open window, my megaphone, and my hand extended in invitation. This is where I ask the world not just to see me, but to hear my voice truly.

So, who am I? I am a deaf, neurodivergent individual navigating a world designed for hearing and neurotypical minds. My cochlear implant is not a "fix," but a fascinating part of my sensory experience, offering a unique way to listen to life. By profession, I am deeply immersed in the world of Special Needs Education, a field that teaches me more about communication, patience, and the beautiful spectrum of human potential every single day. This blog is where all these identities converge.

And what will you discover here? Into My World is a living archive of my experience. One day, we might dive into a personal essay on the stark quiet of a world without sound and the complex symphony a cochlear implant provides. The next, we could be exploring a creative project designed through a neurodivergent lens, or reflecting on the profound lessons my students teach me about connection beyond words.

You’ll find reflections on the books that communicate universal feelings without sound, the travel that challenges and adapts to sensory needs, and the routines that ground a mind that thrives on structure. This is a blend of advocacy and everyday life, a place where I break down the barriers of assumption by sharing what it’s actually like to be me.

My greatest hope is that in sharing my world so openly, you will discover the person behind the labels. I hope my stories resonate with your own human experience, that my perspective might prove useful, or that a thought here might spark a new understanding of your own. This is a place for connection across different ways of being, for shared wonder, and for building a bridge between my world and yours.

Thank you for being here. Thank you for listening. Welcome, truly, into my world.
